Ever wonder why God has such a thing about sin? Is it because he is a killjoy?
Or do our sins hurt him (beyond the pain in the cross)?
Do our sins keep him from fulfilling his plans?
Some think that God is looking for reasons to condemn us.
Others think that God is disappointed, even hurt, that we are not more interested in pursuing life with him.
What if God is concerned about our sin because he knows that it will ultimately bring us pain, even if it feels so right in that moment?
What if God is not out to hurl people into hell but, instead, is willing to grant the desires of those who seek to push him away as they pursue their own plans?
What would it cost you to draw near to God?
What might you gain by drawing near to God?
Perhaps the bigger question is, are you ultimately your own killjoy?
